Greg Burks | Senior Investment Advisor
Greg Burks believes good financial advice starts with listening.
Before discussing investments or planning strategies, Greg wants to understand what's important to the people sitting across the table. What are their goals? What keeps them up at night? What does financial success look like to them? He believes the answers to those questions matter far more than any plan or portfolio they may discuss during their work together.
Greg began his career as a financial advisor with Paine Webber before spending more than twenty years working as a mutual fund wholesaler. Along the way, he had a front-row seat to what separates good advisors from great ones. In his opinion, the common thread wasn't usually investment performance or technical knowledge. It was the ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and genuinely care about clients. Today, Greg holds a Series 7 license and works closely with Brad Harvey supporting Harvey Investment Management clients in achieving their desired outcomes.
We find that clients appreciate Greg's approachable style and straightforward communication. He believes people should leave meetings feeling heard, understood, and confident that someone is looking out for their best interests. His goal is never to talk at clients, but instead to have meaningful conversations with them. He finds this process tends to produce better informed clients and better outcomes.
A Colorado Springs native, Greg attended Mitchell High School and the University of Colorado. He and his wife, Deb, met in high school and have built a life centered around faith, family, and community. Today, they're proud parents of three children and grandparents to six grandchildren, all of whom live in Colorado. Much of their free time is spent attending games, concerts, and school activities.
Outside the office, Greg enjoys golf and has a lifelong passion for sports. Fun fact about Greg: he is a member of both the Colorado Springs Sports Hall of Fame and the Mitchell High School Hall of Inspiration. After many years officiating college football and basketball, he currently serves as the Supervisor of Football Officials for the Big 12 Conference.
Ask Greg what he enjoys most about his work, and he'll tell you it is helping people reach their goals. He considers it a privilege to be part of his clients' lives and never takes that responsibility for granted.
